On January 5th, 2025, the design competition for the public service building scheme of Qilong Park, which lasted for 3 months, successfully concluded in the final round. This competition is hosted by the Sichuan Survey and Design Association, and jointly organized by the Landscape Architecture and Ecological Environment Branch of the Sichuan Survey and Design Association, China Southwest Architectural Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd., and Sichuan Zhuyuan Technology Co., Ltd.
The theme of the competition is "Empowering through Design, Innovating to Build the City". The competition is held in Chengdu, the first city where the concept of a park city was proposed. The specific location of the construction of the competition project is within Qilong Park on Tianfu Fifth Street in the High-tech Zone, adding new and powerful impetus to Chengdu's demonstration area of a park city that implements new development concepts.

Long Weiguo, Vice Chairman of the China Survey and Design Association, Chairman of the Sichuan Survey and Design Association, Deputy Chief Engineer of China State Construction Engineering Corporation, and Chief Engineer of China Southwest Architectural Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd., delivered a speech before the competition. He expressed his gratitude to the peers and scholars both inside and outside the industry for their attention to this competition. The Qilong Park area will be a low-carbon, ecological and green city in the future. It is not only a place for citizens' daily life, work, leisure and fitness, but also an important base for the inheritance of innovative culture and ecological protection in Chengdu. It is hoped that everyone can base themselves on the development of the park city, the "planning for every meter" in the High-tech Zone, the urban design of the area and the overall plan of Qilong Park, fully explore the internal connection between public buildings and urban functions, and strive to create a demonstration of new scenes in the park city.
Yu Yonghan, Assistant to the General Manager of Chengdu Hi-Tech Investment Construction Group Co., Ltd., said: In the 2035 territorial spatial plan of the High-tech Zone, the High-tech South Zone aims to be the "core bearing area of the park city" and the "central vitality zone of Chengdu city", which will help Chengdu become a national high-quality development demonstration zone. In the process of project promotion, we have made it clear that we need to solidify the ecological foundation of the park city, promote the transformation of the value of ecological space, continuously optimize the livable living environment, and build a "city in the park."
Cheng Rui, Director of China Southwest Architectural Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. and Dean of the Landscape Design Institute, and Chen Shuwei, Chairman of Sichuan Zhuyuan Technology Co., Ltd., summarized the competition proposals from the perspectives of breakthrough innovation and navigating through cycles, starting from actual market demands. They also provided students with suggestions on how to optimize their proposals and shared their thoughts on the future development direction of the industry.
