This work ingeniously recreates the historical context from Roman arches to Catalan vaults. Over 10,000 bamboo steel® sheets, each only 10 millimeters thick, are powerfully combined to achieve a large-span structure. The natural bonding force of this system reduces the need for buttresses and arch braces. The work has been highly affirmed and loved by experts and citizens of Barcelona, and it is the only installation completed within the budget. The installation was featured on the front page of local newspapers, exhibited at the authoritative architecture gallery in Berlin, and received attention from mainstream European media. It was selected by DesignBoom as one of the top ten temporary buildings worldwide in 2014.
