The Exhibition and Service Center of Chengdu Park City Education Practice Base has won the "Honorable Mention in Mixed Use Architecture".
The
project is located in Xilai Town, Pujiang County, Chengdu. It is based on the
concept of "Rural Expression of the Park City". Aiming to showcase
the rural expression of the park city with high quality, it meets the
functional needs for activities such as park city education practice,
exhibitions, conferences, study tours, and research activities.
This
project takes "Three-star Green Building according to National Standards +
Demonstration of Green and Low-carbon Highlights" as its design objective.
It deeply explores the local culture of Xilai in Pujiang and extracts 12
thousand-year-old banyan trees along the Linxi River as design elements.
Shaping according to the trees and undulating with the mountains, inspired by
the imagery of "Green mountains and clear waters, new shoots of ancient
banyan trees", it uses modern architectural design language to integrate
local rural characteristics with modern new architecture. Closely adhering to
the principles of green and low-carbon, it creates visible, tangible, and
understandable green and low-carbon scenarios.
In the architectural design of the base, the design concept of "light intervention and localization" is adopted. Materials such as outdoor heavy bamboo floors, grilles, and finishes made of Bamboo Steel® brand restructured bamboo developed from bamboo are selected. These materials are in line with the rural style of the park city, demonstrating the rationality and harmony between inheritance and innovation.
Bamboo
Steel® floors, Bamboo Steel® grilles, blue bricks, roof tiles, etc. not only
continue the simple and rustic feel of traditional dwellings in terms of
sensory perception but also give full play to the advantages of environmental
protection and energy conservation brought by modern technology. Bamboo Steel®
restructured bamboo has excellent environmental protection properties. As a
fast-growing biological resource, bamboo has a high annual growth increment and
causes little damage to the environment, which is in full agreement with the
concept of green buildings.
